Hi again,
I have a new course which is about problems in modern English teaching. The course aims to prepare the pre-service English teachers to modern education with the help of technology.
Initially, we were informed about the definition of technology and after that we learned CALL which is stands for computer assisted language learning then it branched to the eras of technology based English language teaching. Our past courses’ knowledge was refreshed due to the aim of the course. We watched a video about CALL, and we argued about the method of Duolingo which is created based on Audio-Lingual method. I tried it to learn French, but I had persistence issues.
I am kind of excited to see the whole course because in modern teaching we do not only need pedagogical or content knowledge as English teacher, but we also need to adapt modern era. To comprehend modern issues in teaching, we need to analyze and take lessons from past, so we plunged into the baby steps in technology orientation and adaptation in the CALL for 3 weeks. I need to go over my early courses knowledge because the course was prepared as accepting that we already know.
